Ink Prints

This work is inspired by the art of Gyotaku, a printmaking technique created by Japanese fisherman in the mid 1800s as a way to capture an image of the fish they caught.

Using the birds in place of the fish, I coat them in ink and gently create prints using a thin mulberry paper.
