February of 2019 was the first time I brought home a dead bird and kept it in my freezer; I have been collecting and freezing them ever since. Beginning in 2021, I photograph the birds weekly, finding new discoveries and understandings through the use of photography, video, and works on paper.
Using various interventions such as temperature, wind, and water, I create art inspired by my imagined perspectives of the birds. Through art making and the act of photographing, I aim to discover and understand connections between the experiences of the birds and myself. It is through this path that I reach towards my ultimate goal to understand the ways we, as organisms and matter, are interconnected within the universe.
